cultivating color and new beginnings

For a few years now, I’ve been missing a familiar spring ritual- turning over the garden beds, trimming back the perennials, and replacing the annuals with fresh bursts of color. There’s something satisfying about cultivating a garden and watching the color bloom over time.

As we approach the end of our second year in our current home, I’m standing in front of a blank canvas – quite literally. Our backyard, part of a new construction build, is still untouched. No garden beds yet, no familiar blooms. Just open space and possibility.

This year, I may finally get to planting flowers, and maybe it will grow ideas and inspiration for my artwork this year as well. I’m imagining a new chapter of artwork inspired by my future garden adventures. If you love flower art, mixed media textures, bold color, I’d love for you to stick around. This season is all about growth – in the garden and on the canvas.
